Alex Duhaime begins his first season as an assistant coach for the Chattahoochee Valley Baseball Team. A native of Toledo, Ohio, Alex is a graduate of the CVCC with an Associate in Arts degree, a graduate of the University of West Georgia with a Bachelor of Mathematics degree and currently pursuing his MBA at Troy University.
Duhaime is a 2005 graduate of Whitmer High School in Toledo, Ohio. During his baseball career in high school, Duhaime was a three time all region selection and started all four years at second base on the varsity level. He also held the record for career RBI’s with 81.
After a sound career at Whitmer High School, Duhaime took his talents to Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. After being red-shirted his freshman year, he transferred to Chattahoochee Valley Community College. He was a two-year starter at second base and was a mainstay in the lineup. With his defense being such an asset to the team, Duhaime is in the top 5 of career assists in CVCC history. After his time at CVCC, Duhaime finished his career at the University of West Georgia. He was elected captain his senior year and contributed at second base and as a designated hitter.
Duhaime stayed on as a student assistant coach at the University of West Georgia for one season and then pursued a job at Douglas County High School as a math teacher and coach. After being an assistant coach in baseball and softball in 2011, he was named the head coach of both sports in 2012. He took the DC Lady Tigers to the state tourney two years in a row and took the DC Tiger baseball team to the state tourney in 2013.
Coach Duhaime will serve as the Pirates outfield and first base coach, as well as assisting Coach O’Neill with the offense. When not coaching, Duhaime also serves a mathematics instructor and tutor at CVCC.
Born January 18th 1987, Coach Duhaime makes his home in Phenix City, Alabama.
