Pirates Use Entire Roster in 12-1 Win vs. Thomas U

In a midweek game against Thomas Univesity’s JV squad, the Pirates were able to empty the bench and allow all of the position players and the entire bullpen to get game action in the 9 inning affair, with Frank Wager literally playing all 9 positions in the 12-1 win over the Nighthawks.

Stew Tyler got the start and was solid in his 4 innings of work, allowing only a single run while scattering 5 hits on the day.  After falling behind 1-0 after 2 innings, the Pirates exploded for an 8 run 3rd, as Jayson Cook, Nolan Greckel, Will Campbell, Carson Hughes, and AJ Willoughby all had run scoring hits in the inning.

Not quite finished, the Pirates added 2 more in the 4th on a Willoughby 2 run homer.

With Garrett Deloney, MJ Rookard, and Jacob Ozley  tossing a clean 5th, 6th and 7th, the Pirates got back on the board in the 8th on a 2 run, pinch hit homer by Trent Simpson to close out the scoring at 12-1.

Brandon Hill, Brandon Sattenfield, Frank Wager, and Cody Harrison combined to close things out the rest of the way in the non-conference win.
