After a lackluster week in splitting with Dothan and rallying late against West Georgia Tech, the Pirates regained their mojo against the Eagles of Alabama Southern in a huge series sweep to put the Pirates clearly in the front of the pack of the ACCC South. In Game, Chase Burks toed the rubber for the Pirates and continued his dominance in a 6 inning performance allowing only a single run on 4 hits with 6 punchouts.
After ASCC grabbed an early 1-0 lead in the top of the 3rd, the Pirates responded when Jaylen Smith tied the game on a passed ball. Chatt Valley then took the lead for good in the 4th, as Trent Simpson and JT Thomas had back to back 2 out singles, while Jay Meuse loaded the bases with a walk. Smith then had a huge 2 out single to push the lead to 3-1.
Continuing to score the rest of the way, CVCC added another in the 5th and 3 more in the 6th, keyed by a 2 run double by AJ Willoughby. After Simpson came one to shut things down in the 7th, the Pirates took game one, by a score of 7-2.
In Game 2, Chase Adkins was nearly unhittable, tossing a 4 hitter of his own, with only a single run allowed all day, and adding 8 punchouts to his season total.
After falling behind 1-0 in the first, again, the Pirates answered with a run of their own, as the Eagle starter walked 4 in the first to tie the game at 1 apiece.

Game 3 saw an uncharacteristically bad outing by Jordan Lee, surrendering 4 walks and 4 hits en route to 4 runs for the Eagles.
Offensively, after falling down 2-0 in the first, Chatt Valley answered right back with a 5 spot in the second. An MJ Rookard RBI triple and a 3 run homer by Will Campbell led the inning. However, the Eagles answered with 2 and that ended Lee’s day.

Game 4 of the series was an offensive onslaught by the offense, as they scored early and often. A 2 run outburst in the first was led by Campbell and Willoughby, with a 3rd run added in the 3rd, by a Rookard solo homer.
ASCC scratched for 2 off of Logan Haner in the 3rd, with a little bad defense mixed in to cut the lead to 3-2.
No problem for the offense as CVCC responded with 4 in the 4th on a Carson Hughes RBI single and an AJ Willoughby 3 run bomb to extend the lead to 7-2.
After surrendering the 3rd run, Haner finished 5 complete in a solid outing before turning the ball over to Cody Harrison, who tossed a clean 6th and 7th, collecting 3 strikeouts along the way.
The offense put the bow on the series by pushing 3 more runs across in the 6th, as Frank Wager smashed a 3 run homer of his own to make the final score 10-3 and clinch the series sweep of the Eagles.
