Pirates Produce Another Big Semester in the Classroom

One of the givens, if you play baseball at Chattahoochee Valley, is that excellence is demanded and expected in all aspects of your life.  Included in that is academic excellence, as the 2016 version of the Pirates produced a TEAM GPA of 3.24 during the Fall 2015 semester.

Since 2001, the Pirates have never had a team GPA below the 3.10 mark and that trend has continued and garnered the Chatt Valley baseball program many national awards, as they have been named an NJCAA Academic Team of the Year, seven of the past nine years, with all signs pointing towards an eighth award this season.

Maybe the most impressive stat is that of the 33 players in the program, 25 earned GPA’s of 3.00 or higher.  Additionally, the overall GPA of the team, which consists of all coursework attempted at Chattahoochee Valley while a member of the Pirate baseball team, is a whopping 3.29.

These Pirates, like many before them, have bought in and become part of the culture at Chatt Valley, as they continue to show consistency across the board.  A coach can win a lot of games with good players.  A coach can win a lot of games with good people.  However, when you have a team full of good players that are good people, that team can accomplish something special and significant.
