Pirates Take Short Break After ACCC Title, Prep for Grand Junction

Once the dogpile had cleared, the hugs were embraced, the pictures were taken, and the trophy’s were hoisted, it was time for a little rest and relaxation for the Pirates in order to refresh the bodies and to allow the feeling of becoming the 2014 ACCC Champions to set in.

After a 3 day weekend, the Pirates had 2 days of practice time in order to prepare for the Alpine Bank Junior College World Series.  Part of this preparation included countless interviews, news articles, travel logistics, packing, uniform washing, and maybe, just maybe, a tad bit of baseball practice.

After a workout at The Lake on Monday, the Pirates headed to Columbus State University on Tuesday evening to, once again as they had before the conference tourney, hit under the lights at Ragsdale Field.

With early morning flights out of Atlanta on Wednesday morning, the Pirates barely slept with a palpable hue of anticipation looming.
