With a relatively small 2013 recruiting class, the Pirates added two premier local talents last week when Coach Thomas signed shortstop Drew Lingo and centerfielder Tim Kennedy from Columbus, Georgia’s Brookstone School.
Lingo, a shortstop by trade, but multi-diverse in his ability to play all 3 infield positions, is one of the top hitters in the bi-city area, as well as the state of Georgia. A very good athlete, Drew will be looked upon to fill one of the many vacated spots on the Pirate infield due to graduation. A superb athlete, Lingo, brings the tools of power and speed to the Chattahoochee Valley lineup next season.
Kennedy, the Brookstone centerfielder and leadoff hitter, is made out of the same mold as many of the former Chatt Valley centerfielders – gritty, tough, fast, and the ability to make things happen offensively. Tim will be counted on to fill the same role vacated by two graduating sophomore centerfielders next season.
