Each category consists of a short list of certificate winners, all of whom meet the qualifications in said category, with one of those certificate winners being named overall plaque winner.  Smedley brought home certificates in the following categories:  Language, Outstanding Athlete, and General Scholarship.  In addition, Dominique was named a Top Graduating Scholar and one of only two members of the All Alabama Academic Team, which is among the highest honors in the two year college system.

Smedley was named the plaque winner in the categories of Outstanding Athlete and General Scholarship, as the top student in those categories.  And to top of his night, the final award, which is CVCC’s top honor, named Dominique Smedley the Most Outstanding Academic Student.

Dominique has maintained a perfect 4.00 GPA during his career at Chattahoochee Valley and will graduate in May.  He intends on studying pharmacy, but has yet to make his decision to where he will take his academic and athletic talents next year.
